Love it or hate it, we can all agree that ‘Glee’ is responsible for giving us at least one amazing gift: Darren Criss. Seriously, have you stopped to take a look at this guy? ‘Glee’ is a thing that still exists for some reason, and while your little sister or your mom or your closeted uncle still watch it, there’s just not much about that show that’s appealing (anymore, anyway). Except for Darren Criss. That show can keep on keeping on as long as they’ve got this dude around. On ‘Glee,’ Criss plays openly gay high school student and amazing singer Blaine — have you heard his cover of Katy Perry‘s ‘Teenage Dream’? It’s a real panty-dropper. (We mean that almost literally, because unlike his on-screen alter-ego, Darren plays for Team Hetero in real life.) Criss’ talents go all the way back to his childhood. He began playing violin at the age of five, and by the time he was 10 he was accepted into the American Conservatory Theater. He spent all of his formative years studying acting, singing, and other performing arts, making him a total pro. He’ll make his big screen debut this year with comedy goddess Kristen Wiig in ‘Girl Most Likely,’ in which he gets to have a very saucy affair with the former ‘SNL‘ star and one of our favorite imaginary BFFs. And aside from acting and singing and basically taking over the world, Criss is super into charity — he’s an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights, he’s a member of UNICEF, and he supports The Trevor Project. This guy really can do it all.

Google does a lot of very weird things. It has a top-secret lab working on dozens of projects we don’t know about. It builds fiber networks mostly because it has the money and is sick of dealing with ISPs. And now, apparently, it’s going to connect places with no Internet infrastructure by using blimps. Honestly, we question how important it is that the Third World get on the Internet as opposed to, say, sending humanitarian aid. But it can’t hurt, and entitled white kids on an “adventure” will be able to get a decent signal to post pics to Instagram with. These wireless networks would serve areas such as sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia to dwellers outside of major cities where wired Internet connections aren’t available, said people familiar with the strategy. The networks also could be used to improve Internet speeds in urban centers, these people said. Google is also developing cheap hardware to use on these networks, bringing the joy of fart apps to people who live on less than the average American’s coffee budget. Sarcasm aside, it’ll be good to connect these remote areas: there are real benefits ranging from citizen journalism to better medical treatment. And it’s been shown in the past that networks like this can provide real benefit to those living there. On the other hand, you also have to wonder what deals Google will have to cut to get these things in the air. While Africa and Southeast Asia are hardly as bad as the news tends to portray them, there are oppressive regimes and other assorted unpleasant types who really do not want Westerners to, say, find out that they’re running their country into the ground. Google may mean well, but it’s likely sooner or later to find itself embroiled in more local politics than it cares to be involved in.

We already knew Mitch Hurwitz wanted to do another installment of Arrested Development, and we knew that Netflix was likely to renew the series, but certainty is always appreciated, especially when we still have some many open questions. Certainty is what we got from Mitch Hurwitz, who — when asked Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal if the show would be back — said “Definitely.” Then, turning to Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos, he said: ‘I don’t want to get into a whole negotiation right now… but I’ve got a family to feed.’ I can also confirm that Hurwitz does, indeed, have a family; he’s married to the lovely actress Mary Jo Keenan, and they have two daughters, May and Phoebe, the portmanteau of which equals “Maebe.” What Hurwitz is still waffling about, however, is in what form the series will return. From Chortle: ‘I kinda go back and forth between [a movie] and a series. But here’s the most important thing, whatever we do, I want to get the cast all together and not do another anthology thing, and that’s why I keep thinking about kicking off with a special or a three-part show and then going into a series. Then he asked Sarandos: ‘Are you game for that?’. ‘Absolutely,’ the Netflix boss replied. ‘In any form.’ Hurwitz also noted that they now have “the right idea” to take the next step, and I given the exchange, it seems that, even if it’s a movie, it’ll premiere on Netflix (and not in theaters). My only question is how they’re going to work around the Arrested Development movie within the movie being Ron Howard’s next Da Vinci Code when Ron Howard has already signed on to do the next Da Vinci Code.

A boy from the chocolate and waffle country – Belgium – made Mr. Fly into a celebrity. As written in JPG magazine Nicholas met Mr. Gerald Fly in his garden while shooting some cliché flowers. As always, there was a sob story to follow: Over the years Mr. Fly degraded from a successful cab driver to a poor lonely insect as he had 173 wives who cost him a fortune on make-up and clothing. Not to mention his 2184 kids, who all needed money for education and iPods. So Nicholas offered him a job as his new photography model. When you look at his photos you can see not only the mastery of photography but also great photoshopping skills. He has very brave ideas, skills to implement them and good sense of humor.

If some of you wonder “What the hell is Origami?”, lets cite our beloved Wikipedia: “Origami (origami) (from oru meaning “folding”, and kami meaning “paper”) is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to create a representation of an object using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without the use of gluing or cutting the paper,and using only one piece of paper” Maybe not all of the art works here were done using only one peace of paper, but nevertheless they all look really impressive. I really hate people taking photos near the sculptures. When I was traveling around the Europe with my friends, I just couldn’t get why people think that they have to make a photo near every sculpture. Is it in our genes? Or is there some kind of magnet in those sculptures? 80-year-old Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura became the oldest person to reach the top of Mount Everest. Miura, who also conquered the 29,035-foot (8,850-meter) peak when he was 70 and 75, reached the summit at 9:05 a.m. local time Thursday, May 22. Truly and inspiring and motivational story. I hope I can conquer big challenges like this as I get older!

Russian scientists have announced the recovery of well-preserved woolly mammoth blood and tissue from a 10,000-year-old female carcass found on the New Siberian Islands off the coast of Siberia. The Russian scientists and their partners from the South Korean Sooam Biotech Research Foundation hope to use the blood and tissue to clone a woolly mammoth. The Russian team was astonished to find the blood in a liquid state, despite that fact that the carcass was surrounded by ice. They theorize that the blood may contain a kind of natural antifreeze.
