This Is What Happens When Rain Falls On The Earth’s Driest Desert
28 oct 2015 14:41
The Atacama desert in Chile is the driest non-polar desert on Earth, but even this seemingly barren wasteland can burst with life under the right conditions. If the desert experiences heavy rainfall during the Southern Hemisphere’s spring (October, November), the flowers ‘hibernating’ beneath its surface suddenly bloom with an explosion of color, eager to take advantage of the rain.

Parents are awesome. My dad, for example, has this thing where when he offers you something to try a bite of, you absolutely have to try a bite. When we were little he tried getting us kids to eat rhubarb, and, for whatever reason, we didn't want to try it. So, my dad being hilarious and awesome, used to chase us around with a stalk of rhubarb and pin us down and shove the rhubarb in our mouths (we're laughing and shrieking the whole time). The three of us refuse to eat rhubarb...

Big Ben, London

There’s countless photographs online seemingly showing tourists single-handedly holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. So much so that it’s getting a little old, and definitely less believable; so what about transforming Big Ben into a wristwatch? London-based photographer Rich McCor uses just a piece of paper and a pair of scissors to create simple cutouts that transform iconic landmarks into something else entirely.

Hypnotizing Beauty Of Moravian Fields In The Chech Republic

I would like to show you very interesting place in Europe – Moravia in The Czech Republic. It’s a large agricultural area in southern part which is hilly and colorful. It’s very famous for it’s vineyards and the very fertile soils. Each time when I traveled there the whole area was very different. You can meet a lot of deers, hares and boars there. Another characteristic feature is tractors and a lot of field pulpits.

The Top 10 American Conspiracy Theories
22 oct 2015 12:42
Sometimes things aren’t always as they seem, especially when we are talking about conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories are used as an explanatory hypothesis that a group puts forward, basically stating that an organization or certain group of people are secretly behind, or have manipulated certain events that have occurred throughout history. Regardless, one of the best things we can consider when it comes to conspiracy theories is that they keep us curious and critical – they get us to...

My Lonely Robots Experiencing The Quiet Wonder Of The World
22 oct 2015 11:55
Matt Dixon does not recall where the idea to paint these robots came from but since the first that he painted, back in 2006, he has been fascinated by them and the world they inhabit. There’s something very restful about losing himself in these paintings. They’re rarely planned. When he is in the mood, he just sits down and they just seem to happen. That’s partly why he named his first book collecting this artwork ‘Transmissions’ as the images ometimes feel as if they’ve been transmitted...

12 Successful Celebs You Didn’t Know Were Adopted

It’s a well-known fact, or at least one we seem to widely accept: a person’s upbringing will determine his or her success. Numerous sociology studies have demonstrated how poverty can limit one’s success. Whether it’s being enrolled in a “tough” school or hanging around a bad crowd, being poor is nearly a death sentence if you want to become a somebody when you grow up. Happily, some of the older people in this predicament realize they cannot rise to the challenge of raising a child, so they...

400-Year-Old Colonial Church Emerges From Waters In Mexico
20 oct 2015 14:26
A 400-year-old church submerged in a reservoir in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas has emerged due to a drought in the region that has reduced water levels by 25 meters (82 feet). Local fishermen have been taking visitors onto the Grijalva river to visit the church, which was submerged by a dam built in 1966 to form the Nezahualcoyotl reservoir. The church has emerged twice since the dam was built.
