Keeping track video game releases isn't as easy as it once was -- the volume of games released each week is constantly expanding, and they're spread over a mind-boggling array of platforms (consoles, PC, Mac, handhelds and mobile). Well, I'm here to make things a little easier on you. Every week I'll rattle off five games I think you should check out. These articles are not meant to be comprehensive lists of everything coming out that week -- think of them as a nice rounded tasting menu. Each week I'll try to highlight several games from different corners of the gaming landscape (handhelds, consoles, indie, PC, you name it) then finish up with a "Pick of the Week". How many times have you read the sorority girl’s email heard ’round the Internet? I’m up to six. If I had kids and they needed a bedtime story, the number would be closer to 17. Except now Josh, Jr and Joshina wouldn’t need to hear my dumb voice reading the Great American Screed — I’d let Alison Haislip do the work. Pop Hangover uploaded a video of Haislip, a former Attack of the Show! correspondent and current member of the Nerdist universe, reciting Rebecca Martinson’s ARE YOU F*CKING BLIND email, complete with loud inflections and exaggerated hand motions. It’s terrifying…but also really funny and oddly arousing. So bitchy, so perfect. Something about the phrase “c*nt punt” just does it for me.

Ottawa, Ontario-based photographer Daniel Picard has created a very realistic set of photos that show us the secret life of Hollywood toys. Called 1:1 Toys, the series, which puts Picard in the "director's seat," is shot all around his hometown. It all started out when, one day, Picard noticed a field whee he wanted to shoot a model in a dress. "The road in front was going to be closed down in two days, for almost a year. So, with no time for a human model, I tried shooting it with a robot I had just bought, the first of my collection. I liked the result so much, that it was the beginning of not only my toy series but my interest in building a fun toy collection."

Ol’ Man Chin pretended to not know what “booty poppin’” was and asked for a demonstration, which is the best thing he’s done since he cleaned a washed-up clown in a bathtub. Meanwhile, not wanting to be outdone by someone who was in Sucker Punch, the only movie worse than LOL, the original Disney Girl Gone Wild, Miley Cyrus, uploaded a video of herself twerking in a unicorn onesie for two minutes. “#killtwobirdswithoneonezie,” she explained on Twitter. In news from the “I can’t believe a company hasn’t done this already” file, it seems that a Carl’s Jr restaurant in Newport Beach, California is conducting a test run for the newest hybrid food item – a Strawberry Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwich. That noise in the distance? That’s a billion dentists purchasing yachts filled with diamonds. The above photo popped up on Instagram before it was picked up by Foodbeast, which has asked for anyone who tries one of these glorious monstrosities to let them know how it is. Me? I’m a more hands-on kinda girl, so if you’re in Newport Beach and these ice cream sandwiches really do exist, go ahead and throw one in an envelope and mail it to me ASAP. Meanwhile, I guarantee that a guy is going to wake up around noon, see this and say, “Hey bro, I’ve been making Pop-Tart sandwiches for years!” And I won’t feel bad for that guy, because ideas like this are a dime a dozen these days, which is why I need Taco Bell to poop or get off the pot with my proposal for a taco shell made of Totino’s Pizza Rolls. As for the Pop-Tart sandwich ad, though, I trust Carl’s Jr. to do the right thing.

I’m not much of a fan of cable news or sports debate shows, but if anyone ever offered to pay me to debate which Muppets are the greatest, I’d be louder and more flamboyant than 10 Skip Baylesses. That said, I don’t know if I’d put the Swedish Chef at the top of my Muppets rankings, but he’d probably be somewhere in the Top 10. My Top 3 would probably be Statler and Waldorf, Beaker and Animal, but that’s just off the top of my head. It would take me thousands of hours and hundreds of Carl’s Jr. Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwiches to determine my actual list. In the meantime, a new meme has combined the delightful goofiness of the Swedish Chef with the world’s favorite (or least favorite) a-hole chef, Gordon Ramsay, who is the host of TV shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, among others. Someone decided to mash the two up to create Swedish Chef Ramsay and I’m not complaining. We could use a little more goofball humor after last week.

Since Saturday Night Live was a rerun again last night, we don’t have a recap to dissect and throw figurative poop at today, but thanks to my morning snoopery, I came across this interesting Plum TV interview with Mary-Ellen Matthews from 2011. Matthews has been the show’s photographer since 1999, and she’s the person responsible for the show’s iconic celebrity host photographs that take us to and welcome us back from commercial breaks, like the image of Louis CK that you can see above. Matthews, who took over for photographer Edie Baskin after serving as her assistant for six years, pulled back the curtain on what goes into creating these fun images, and basically she shoots the hosts in wacky poses in front of a white screen and adds the unique colors and sometimes the props after the fact. While it’s not exactly rocket science, it is a fun look at one artist’s process, as some of her subjects make her job way too easy. For example, she talked about how all it took to get Ashton Kutcher be his typically quirky self was a stool and fake rat. SNL returns in two weeks with host Zach Galifianakis and musical guest Of Monsters and Men, but in the meantime, we can admire or complain about Matthews’ work from the last 13 years.

Earlier today, FIFA president Sepp Blatter started to get a little … weird on Twitter. His tweets went from “my thoughts are with the Dominica coach who died in a car accident” to I AM STEALING MONEY GO F**K YOURSELF QATAR pretty quickly, and shortly thereafter @FIFAWorldCup began tweeting about how FIFA executives had “held a meeting regarding the decision to host the 2022 World Cup in Qatar” and that Blatter would “step down due to corruption charges.” That was followed by increasingly suspicious tweets as the next hour rolled on, but soccer guys are basically the weirdest people in sports, so we weren’t really sure if this was his account being hacked or Sepp settling into some weird scandal and/or mental fit. If there’s a purpose to What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, I’m not sure that E! and the titular swimmer are painting it with the same set of fingers. The network’s newest reality series debuted last night, as the 11-time Olympic swimming medalist wants to give his fans and, more importantly, people like me, who believe that he is a human cartoon character, a glimpse into his daily life as the ultimate All-American boy. The only problem is that E! and the show’s producers do not share that desire. Once I came to that realization in the show’s opening moments, when we see him shouting his trademark made-up word, “JEAH!” all over the place, my mind began to wander, ultimately making me ask myself this question: Is Ryan Lochte the greatest genius that this world has ever known?

According to the hip kids on my street that I pay to not steal my packages from Amazon, singer and woman who has voluntarily dated Chris Brown multiple times, Rihanna, recently canceled some of her concerts on her latest tour because she hasn’t been feeling well. However, as I have dabbled in garage medical practice in the past, the best cure for pop singer fatigue has always been going to Miami Heat playoff games. Rihanna sat courtside with her friend during last night’s Heat blowout of the Milwaukee Bucks, and just look at how edgy and in-your-face they were with their white Heat sunglasses and cunnilingus finger poses. Let’s face it: The opening weekend of the NBA Playoffs was sort of a letdown. Besides the thrilling Warriors/Nuggets game, we were treated to a weekend of blowouts, boredom and the Atlanta Hawks. The games ended with Oklahoma City laying a beating on the Houston Rockets that was as uneventful as it gets. That was until our salvation came in the form of the greatest halftime show of all time. [/hyperbole] The show featured dogs proving that they’d one day rule the world Planet Of The Apes style as they did backflips and tricks and things that made me feel totally unaccomplished as the top of the food chain. I’m totally incapable of using words to do what I witnessed justice so thankfully, SB Nation is doing the world good by putting highlights in .gif form. Watch and try to take your eyes off of it.

Last night’s episode saw Vice President Meyer — who is trying to get a handle on her newfound popularity — sent out to a pig roast, where she had to combat her daughter’s anti-Isreali and “voice solidarity with the Jewish people while standing in front of rotating pork.” Meanwhile, Gary discovers that his new girlfriend may be a leak, and Mike McLintock is dealing with the second stage of massive debt: Denial. Elsewhere, Dan and Amy form a tenuous bond after dealing with Amy’s annoying parents, and Jonah is as annoying as ever while taking his first trip on Air Force 2. Below are the best lines of the week, and it was a damn good week for great lines, and don’t forget: Tony Hale (Gary Walsh, and Arrested Development’s Buster Bluth) will be by for a Q&A tomorrow.

Tom has a new flick out this weekend, which seemed like an appropriate time to remind all of you that he’s still hot. Yeah, he’s at that age where, chances are, your mom is talking about him more than you are, but you should still be talking about Tom Cruise. Did he go crazy on Oprah’s couch that one time? Sure. Is he a Scientologist? Yeah, but don’t act like you never lusted after one of those awkward Mormon boys when they tried to sell church at your front door. That stuff doesn’t matter. Who doesn’t love Drake? (Have a seat, Amanda Bynes. You too, Rosie.) The Canadian rapper and singer/songwriter makes the ladies swoon hard with the way he blends his beautiful voice with hip hop beats and rhymes. Show of hands: how many of you were head over heels for Drake back when he went by Aubrey Graham and was on ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’? He was so adorable as the wheelchair-bound, basketball-playing Jimmy, which is why most of the time when I talk about him, I’m like, “Yeah, that new song by Jimmy from ‘Degrassi’ is awesome.” And people are like, “What?” And then I remember that not everyone has a thing for Canadian teen soap operas like I do. Harrison Ford appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ last night (April 17) to talk about his new movie ’42′ — but the host was having none of that. Instead, Kimmel wanted to know about the continuation of the ‘Star Wars’ franchise in which it’s rumored Ford will appear. While Harrison couldn’t contractually talk about that, he did agree to take audience questions with the caveat that they not be about the movies that made him a household name. Enter planted audience members dressed as Jedi, Princess Leia and Chewbacca making innocuous queries like, “Are you hungry?” Things take a strange turn when Chewbacca comes out and Harrison turns to him and says, “You son of a bitch! What do you want? … You’re the one who couldn’t keep it in your furry pants!” As the conversation progresses, things get messy and Ford storms off in a huff. Snoop Lion’s 420 Festival Was Mad Chill But Still Shut Down (5 photo)

Snoop Lion, formerly known as Snoop Dogg, held his annual 420 Festival yesterday to celebrate all things weed. The only problem? The party got shut down as soon as he got there. TMZ reports that the festivities kicked off around 11AM, but that Snoop’s neighbors, who clearly weren’t craving Taco Bell themselves, called the cops to shut everything down within only a few hours. Apparently everyone else in Snoop’s Hollywood Hills neighborhood was peeved about the parking situation from the celebratory smokers, as well as the noise levels. The party also didn’t have a permit, which didn’t help anyone’s case. Luckily, Snoop was as laidback about the issue as any other stereotypical stoner. He got there as soon as the cops came to ruin everyone’s fun and was extremely cooperative and understanding.

Because the main person you should trust with secrets of national and planetary security is Will Smith (especially when he’s on his way to a barbecue), we’re actually not too shocked at the fact that his son, Jaden Smith, says President Barack Obama told him about aliens. The 14-year-old rapper and actor told Wonderland magazine (via Zap2It), “I like aliens!” “I think aliens are really cool, because they exist. I talked to President Obama about the extraterrestrials. He said he could neither confirm nor deny the existence of aliens, which means they’re real.” Smith added, “If people think we’re the only people that live in this universe, then something is wrong with them.” Yes. Something almost as wrong as someone who thinks the President doesn’t have other things (Boston, North Korea, the NDAA, his wife’s bangs, daughters so cute they should be locked up til they’re 35) to worry about besides entertaining Will Smith’s progeny. All too often we’re looking down at our smart phones rarely glancing up at the sky above us. Yet if we took the time to do so, we might see a world of endless possibilities. Parisian artist Thomas Lamadieu certainly does as he looks up at the skies of Europe’s compact and narrow courtyards and plazas. It was here that he noticed the different spaces where the sky pokes through and hit upon the novel idea of filling those vacuums of blue sky with his own unique illustrations. He’s aply titled the series Sky Art, whereby he squeezes in his characters into all the available nooks and crannies available to him. It’s whimsical, fun and inventive and it just goes to show you, your creativity needn’t be restricted by your surroundings.

These images are meant to break the boundaries between art and science. "The motivation was to provide a venue and greater exposure for some of the artful scientific imagery we encounter," says Terry Devitt, the coordinator of the contest. "We see a lot of pictures that don’t get much traction beyond their scientific context and thought that was a shame, as the pictures are both beautiful and serve as an effective way to communicate science."

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has been holding an annual Cool Science Image contests for three years now, and the 2013 collection is quite impressive.

A recent study conducted by Lance Price of the Translational Genomics Research institute (TGen) and his colleagues, showed that circumcision lowers the chances of contracting HIV. They conducted a detailed genetic analysis of microbes among a group of Ugandan men using the latest technology, before circumcision and again a year later after circumcision. The results were pretty dramatic. Circumcised men carried way fewer bacteria that contribute to easier HIV entrance by lowering the immune defenses than uncircumcised men. Circumcision lowers the risk of transmitting HIV by as much as 50%.
