When it was announced that Ben Affleck is our new Batman and Bryan Cranston may be Lex Luthor, we knew the fan mashups would roll in (Example: Southie Batman!). This one, however, threw the fulminated mercury against the wall and blew everyone else away. SoylentBrak1 pieced together footage from twenty properties including Breaking Bad, Man Of Steel, The Dark Knight, Total Recall (2012), Daredevil, and more. It’s all set to “I Will Find Him” and “Arcade” from Han Zimmer’s excellent Man Of Steel score. Let this video serve as a reminder why Warner seriously needs to cast Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor. Everyone else auditioning best stay out of his territory.

Sunday, September 29 is most notable for our purposes because it is the date of the series finale of Breaking Bad. That is, provided we all survive until then and don’t just start vibrating at such a high frequency from the intensity and breakneck pace of the episodes leading up to it that we burst into a billion zillion little particles and eventually settle back down to the earth as a fine, sand-like sediment layer on the crust. (Scientists thousands of years from now will refer to this as the Heisenberg layer. It will be totally devoid of nutrients, but if you put your ear very close to it, you will hear it ramble on and on about its feelings about Skyler and what it thinks Walt did with the ricin.) But that’s not the only thing on television that night. Far from it. Sunday, September 29 also features a primetime football game on NBC (always a ratings juggernaut), an episode of Boardwalk Empire on HBO, and a SLEW of premieres, including: Homeland; the final season of Eastbound & Down; The Good Wife; The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, and the rest of Fox’s animation block; The Amazing Race for reality TV fans; and the series premiere of both Lizzy Caplan’s Masters of Sex and Stephen Merchant’s Hello Ladies. Now, none of this is to say that anything in that paragraph should prevent you from watching the series finale of one of the best television dramas of the past decade or so. But I did want to give you a month of notice in case you want to send your DVR off to some martial arts master for an intense training program to help it prepare. I’ve seen it work before....

I’m not entirely sure of the specifics in the video below, but I do know that it shows peen-flaunter Alexander Skarsgård at a soccer match cheering on his beloved Hammarby Fotboll and that he’s really drunk and seems really pissed. According to a helpful translation provided by from someone on Oh No They Didn’t: alex: all of you can go to hell, [some name on S I think] look at me you f*cking p*ssy random person: look at his magical f*cking hairdo alex: who’s the best team? (and then a couple of more similar questions that I can’t make out) crowd: hammarby (the name of the team) alex and crowd: we’re the hottest we’re the best we’re the ones who win the most…hammarby…clapping. “Magical f*cking hairdo”? Is that what they’re calling penises in Sweden now?

Ever wanted to see a sci-fi short film written and performed by drunk people? Well, that’s probably half of all films, but Star Drunk did it intentionally. Of course this happened in Portland. Star Drunk is an experiment in writing a short film while drunk; several writers from Portland got together one night to write the script. We promised each other that whatever we wrote that night, we’d produce as a short film. We ended up creating a Star Trek-Star Wars-Battlestar Galactica’esque parody with laser gun fights and space battles. Taking the concept a step further (and stranger), we asked our cast to be drunk on the night of filming. [ChrisRWilsonFilm] Those actors include Greg James, Adam Elliot Davis, Kyle Smith, Britt Harris, Alexander Fraser, and Bethany Jacobs (pictured above) doing an impression of Carol Marcus from Star Trek Into Darkness.

Sir Patrick Stewart, the only knighted actor to ever give a master ACTING course on an animated show starring an alien and a talking goldfish, is now offering private lessons to his girlfriend, Sunny Ozell. Last night, she uploaded a video of one such lesson, apparently filmed in a tree house after firing up a doob, in which Stewart explains the complexities of the “quadruple take” using my new security answer for everything, “Her buns ARE the best.” My acting experience is limited to not screaming when I’m told “how great CSI was,” but I’d pay good money to have Stewart teach me all of the finest sitcom tropes. The spit take, the jaw drop, the scheduling two dates on the same night across the street from one another. Throw in a animal reaction shot exercise with Spot, and I’d start today.

Miley Cyrus is apparently ratchet now, and her attempts at twerking seem to suggest she is really trying to mean it. As we sit back and watch her try to ingratiate herself with the hip-hop community, let’s take a moment to think about what could’ve been if Miley had been around during the ’90s and early ’00s and discovered rap when some classic albums were released. Here are some beloved hip-hop albums with Miley on the cover courtesy of TheDrop.fm. As unfortunate as her VMA performance was, it could be way, way worse.

If Miley Cyrus’ performance at the VMA has turned you off of twerking, or if you just find cartoon butts bouncing around hilarious, this is for you. Or, you could look at it this way — we went through the trouble of parsing through all the twerking GIFs and selecting only the ones that don’t require a NSFW tag. Frankly, it doesn’t matter how you look at it, as long as you look at it, because cartoon butts bouncing up and down ARE hilarious. End of story.

You’ll rarely see a photo today that hasn’t been manipulated, generously enhanced or overlayed with dozens of filters, but in truth this has been happening since the dawn of photography itself – its just that the process of manipulation has evolved. In the early 1800s and even through to the 1900s, if you wanted to alter your photo to create an illusion it was an incredibly labor intensive process. There was combination printing, photomontages and even overpainting – all took time and all had significant drawbacks. Which makes the following collection of fun and somewhat illusory photographs all the more impressive. They were created during an era where you genuinely had to be measured and considered in how you were adapting the film negative itself. There was no magical ‘undo’ button, just lots of trial and error and trying to adapt the technology as best you could. But its safe to say, thanks to the creativity of those involved, all of these images bear little resemblance to their original photographs – it’s amazing what a little magic can do isn’t it?

In the near future, all photos will be selfies. It's best to accept this inevitability now. The front page of the New York Times. A picture of Barack Obama taking a selfie with Karolos Papoulias? Sports photojournalists will be obsolete, having been replaced by athletes whipping out their cellphones and snapping a quick shot while running for a touchdown. It's sad, but it's true, and already, the negative effects of the selfie are being chronicled on "Selfies at Serious Places," which aims to shame the kind of people who, well, see above. THUMBS UP FOR GENOCIDE.

As if it wasn’t bad enough for us guys that Parks and Recreation actor Chris Pratt was out there, bragging about how shredded he looks for his leading role in Guardians of the Galaxy, now we’ve got former teen heart throb and current 20-year old heart throb, Nick Jonas, posting his own shirtless selfie on Instagram, all in the name of “fitness.” The youngest Jonas Brother prefaced his photo with the caveat, “I never do this but…” to which Huma Abedin rolled her eyes and said, “Heard that one before.” But Nick is actually an inspiring idol, as he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 13-years old, and he has done a great deal of work to raise awareness for the disease, both through his own Change for the Children Foundation and with a variety of other organizations. Maybe next he can start a foundation for insecure bloggers who swim in their t-shirts. For other people, I mean. Not me. I’m ripped, too. Shut up.

Those are just some of the themes photographers Peter Andrew, Simon Duffy and Derek Blais explore in their proactive series titled Point Blank a collection of used handguns, shot portrait style and designed to capture your attention.

Sex is a topic that even the greatest of minds will discuss — usually because it’s always on the mind. We collected a few of our favorite sex quotes from some incredibly famous names. Check out these deep, yet hilarious, quotes about sex. You’ll probably wish you said them all.

Marvel has released a new extended TV spot for Thor: The Dark World, and as you've seen, it looks like he has his work cut out for him in this next movie. He's going to be fighting some real bad dudes in trying to once again save the universe. Unfortunately, there's really nothing new to see here, but the movie still look amazing! I can't wait to see how this story turns out, especially the ending. I think it's going to be pretty jacked up. The highly anticipated film hits theaters on November 8th, 2013.

Here's another episode from the fun new webseries, Movie Phone Mangler, created by YouTuber gnarlytooth. This one takes Ed Rooney from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and pits him against Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder. It's a perfect combination that delivers some funny entertainment.

After a few weeks of teasing, the latest Borderlands 2 animated short is here! It follows Brick from the first game and everyone’s favorite homicidal pre-teen girl, Tiny Tina. This short is a prologue to the downloadable adventure,Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, which is Tiny Tina playing Bunkers and Badasses (a play on Dungeons and Dragons) with the players. In short, it is hilarious.

If you’ve checked your Facebook feed lately, chances are you’ve seen a friend, coworker, acquaintance or former middle school teacher sharing a “new” inspirational Bill Watterson cartoon. Except, it’s not actually by the reclusive artist behind the beloved ‘Calvin and Hobbes’ comic strip.

If you aren’t completely caught up with ‘Breaking Bad,’ move along. This is not for you. Otherwise, jump right in and enjoy these hilarious videos. Naturally you remember the scene from last week when Marie and Hank found out what was on the disc Walt gave them. Pretty quickly, people decided that the couple’s horrified reaction warranted a little messing with. Here are some great videos made showing the Schraders watching a variety of things in varying degrees of disturbing. Enjoy!

Who doesn’t like the odd chocolate bar or fizzy candy every now and then? Just like the rest of us, visual artist Emily Blincoe is partial to the odd sugary indulgence but whilst we’re all unwrapping and munching on them, she’s opted to create this wonderful collection of visuals titled “Sugar Series”. In it, she’s carefully selected all manner of different types of confectionary and then organised them solely by colour. Apple greens, tangy oranges, citrus yellow and raspberry red are just a few of the colour schemes she’s used. The end result is a selection of colourful boards brimming with delicious items that almost look too good to eat. You’ll be pleased to know she’s going to be producing posters of these shortly, make sure you’re the first to know by heading over to her website.

You might not have heard of Marquese ‘Nonstop’ Scott, but trust us, you’ve probably watched him. He’s racked up millions of views on YouTube for his phenomenal hip-hop & break dancing skills where defy belief at the best of times. Now he’s back with two new clips, which pay tribute to The King Of Pop Michael Jackson. Whether it’s the classic bassline of ‘Thriller’ or the remixed dubstep version of ‘Beat It’ – Scott shimmy, slides, contorts and bends through them both, in what is quite simply one of the most extraordinary dance performances you’re ever likely to see.

Growing old doesn’t mean you have to grow less awesome. Below are just a few grandmas and grandpas that are still keeping it real…

Bill Hader sat down with Jimmy Kimmel last night and pretty much never got up, doing an extended interview and then playing sidekick during a Richard Simmons visit. It was all great and if you’re the Hader fans we are you should watch every second. There’s getting stranded in Martha’s Vineyard at Seth Meyers’s wedding, people having sex during He Got Game, and geeking out on famous directors during “Laser Cats.” But most importantly and hilariously of all there’s Hader describing the scene at James Franco’s Comedy Central Roast and how he goes way back with James. That starts at the 1:45 mark above in Part 3 of the interview but gets top billing because it’s perfect.

According to a new study conducted by cognitive scientists at the University of California, your mom was totally wrong about the whole “video games rot your brain” thing. In fact, it would probably do her some good to pick up a controller herself. And it’s not just games that make iffy-sounding claims about “training your brain” that are beneficial — this latest study has found that pretty much any game that requires a lot of multitasking can make a brain think younger… Basically, the scientists at UC created their own simple video game in which you have to drive a car while paying attention to certain signs that pop up on screen. Initially younger players in their 20s did better than players in their 70s or 80s, but with a bit of training the codgers became just as good at the game as the kids. In fact, most actually became better at the game than your average 20-year-old playing it for the first time. Even more interesting, these old people continued to “think young” and function at a higher cognitive level even after the game was shut off. The effects of mastering the game also lasted for a long time — up to six months. Oh, and video games aren’t just good for dusty old-person brains either. Another study has shown that multitasking-heavy video games can also help young people ignore distractions and learn. So wait, a game where you drive a car while also paying attention to roadside distractions improves brain function? Roadside distractions like oh, I dunno, screaming pedestrians, cops and health-restoring hookers? Well, I don’t see any way around it — now that we have this new information it would be a crime against brains to not install Grand Theft Auto V in every old folks home and school in America. Thank You NY Times! I knew there was a reason to my paying a monthly subscription to you! (And if you haven't done it yet, 'git um dun sunny!) via The New York Times

In case you’d forgotten, or more likely hadn’t noticed, Yahoo! is rolling out a new logo today, after spending thirty days showing off “old” logos. Yes, they’ve wanted us to get excited over typefaces, and I write “us” because I’ve had a Yahoo! email address for more than a decade now. And above is the end result. First of all, it is kind of condescending to try and get us hyped up over a logo. “Here, get excited about a signifier for a brand that few people will actually care about, and as a brand, barely even qualifies as a logo!” Secondly, a month of demanding attention for this? This has an announcement video, because of course it does.

Please enjoy (or at least stare confusedly at) this music video, “The Fox”, from the Norwegian talk show I kveld med YLVIS. It answers the question, “What would happen if you made a schmaltzy pop song with high production values then devolved into silly animal sounds?” Nobody asked the question, but they answered it anyway. Sketch group Ylvis is the brothers Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker, who have been making surreal and funny stuff like this for the past 13 years. (Sidenote: “Bård Ylvisåker” is the Norwegianist name that’s ever Norwegianed.) Once in a while, something they make starts going viral outside Norway, like their “voice controlled elevator” pranks. This absurd video seems poised to be a crossover hit. The top YouTube comment is, “Play this at my funeral” and we’re inclined to agree.

New station, new night, same old The League. Last night’s premiere of the FXX series may not have been as good as some of the best episodes of the series, but it was good to have the gang back in our lives (and as importantly, it signaled the arrival of fantasy football season). The premiere tried to do what last season’s rape joke episode did in taking something that would seem off limits, in the case AIDS, and turn it into a recurring punchline. The results were mixed to good, although the episode — as usual — hit its highs when Rafi was onscreen. He got an assist from Seth Rogen’s Dirty Randy (and Rob Huebel) and the Domination League (making us all the more excited for Dirty Randy and Rafi’s episode later this season). Here were the 17 best lines from the episode, and as always in The League discussions, if you leave a comment or share the post, you get a The League badge.

Walter White, he knows all about your operation, your “TV show.” His partners tell him that you’re producing a series that’s 70% great, if you’re lucky. What he stars on, Breaking Bad, is 99.1% masterpiece. “So?” you might be asking yourself. “So,” Walt responds, “it’s grade-school T-ball versus the New York Yankees, but, like, the good New York Yankees, not the current limping New York Yankees. They’re terrible. What I am is classic Coke.” “Who the hell are you?” all other TV shows ask. “You know exactly who I am. Say my show’s name.” “Do what…? I don’t, I don’t have a damn clue who the hell you are.” “Yeah, you do. I’m the star of the greatest TV show of all-time, according to Guinness World Records.” “Bullsh*t. What about Homeboys in Outer Space?” “SAY. MY. SHOW’S. NAME.” “Breaking Bad.” “You’re goddamn right.”
