The selfie is the highest art form of the social media world, and occasionally celebs like to share self-taken photos other than naked snapshots or flattering, filtered full makeup pictures. Sometimes they share awkward selfies of themselves with duck lips, showing off questionable fashion choices and trying to look sexy while being anything but. These pictures may have you cringing on their behalf, or they may have you loving them all the more for showing off their less than glamorous sides. If you feel bad about being being single and not having a girlfriend, Japanese photographer Keisuke Jinushi has a quick fix for you! The young artist, who studied at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo, shows how to use your own palm and Instagram to make the impression that you have a wonderful girlfriend. To get the heartwarming selfies, Keisuke first bleached his right hand with a lot of light makeup. To make the illusion more convincing, he then applied red nail polish and put on a scrunchie. The final step was capturing a selfie with an Instagram-like filter that made everything look really genuine. Voilà! This is how you can make a very caring girlfriend that would not only feed you, but also wipe the ketchup from the corners of your mouth.

The triumphant (and final) return of ‘Breaking Bad‘ this Sunday, August 11, has gotten people all jazzed up and doing strange things. Some of our friends are throwing parties. Others refuse to let anyone into their homes. People without cable have sworn off Facebook from Sunday until they get a chance to watch the show. It’s insanity. Here’s how people are preparing themselves.

So Beyonce chopped off all her hair, took a selfie and put it on Instagram — we think there’s something a little funny about it. Although Beyonce looks great with short hair (of course she does), we couldn’t help thinking that maybe … just maybe … if she loses her temper her family better watch out. See what we mean below.

Does Domino’s suffer from low self-esteem? It would seem so, if the Facebook posting below that has been going around the Web is any indication. It seems that a customer who actually purchased and enjoyed one of Domino’s lukewarm bread and cheese creations decided to, as everyone does once they’ve consumed foodstuffs nowadays, register their enjoyment on Facebook. The customer in question posted a missive about her love for Domino’s pan pizza on the company’s Facebook page which, if the kneejerk apology above is any indication, seems to be used solely to field consumer complaints. Does Domino’s have a spambot ready to reply to any messages, tags or likes with a swift apology for the gastrointestinal distress their product no doubt caused? After years of people calling their pizza “hot circles of garbage,” are they like an abused child who responds to anything — be it a compliment or a criticism — with beaten down remorse? That said, we don’t feel sorry for Domino’s. If anything, this is a good start. The fast food chain has done a few other things over the years that they should apologize for. Here are five things we’d like the Dominos ApologyBot5000 to answer for. 1. Recycling the same dough and cheese they use for pizza for everything from Cheesy Bread to those volcano shaped mounds of noodles and goo they call Pasta Bowls. 2. Releasing those ads a while back where they admitted their pizza is terrible and needed to be changed. You were fine serving slop for decades and we were fine with guiltily devouring it in college when we were hungover and couldn’t be bothered to walk down to the cafeteria for a bagel. That was the agreement, Domino’s.

The English term ‘Gypsy’ encompasses a number of ethnic groups, in Europe they are predominantly known as the ‘Romani’ people, in India the Banjara, in Armenia the ‘Lom’ people and across Germany, Switzerland and France these nomadic families are sometimes called the ‘Yeniche’ people. Interestingly enough the term ‘Gypsy’ was originally spelt gypcian, short for Egipcien, many believe its roots lie somewhere amongst the rubbles of Middle English, French and Latin. Regardless of country or even origin, the one trait that binds this ethnic group together is their steadfast refusal to identify themselves with a particular territory or country. They have few traditions and no place to literally call home – a result of their ancestors also being nomadic. Their history is one of constant movement and change, tempered with a fierce belief in being free from any country and indeed its institutions. In America they are used as cheap entertainment in shows such as ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’ whereby the very worst elements of their culture have been provoked, exaggerated, edited and broadcast onto reality TV – but to stereotype the actions of a few, as representative of a much wider community would be incredibly narrow-minded.

One of the key considerations in getting a tattoo, besides your motive and its symbolism is how it looks on your body. Both Arabic and more importantly Chinese characters are beautiful examples of typography, so it’s not that surprisingly that millions of people around the world choose to ink themselves with sequences of each. The trouble comes when you start using words in the wrong context. If you’re Russian and you get “BAG OF CHIPS” tattooed on your arm, simply because you like the way it looks, you can be sure that anyone who reads English will laugh at you incessantly and constantly ask you “Were you drunk when you got that?” Which brings us nicely onto the following collection of Chinese character tattoos. As aesthetically pleasing as they may be, to anyone who is able to read Chinese they are completely and utterly non-sensical. Take a walk around your local Chinatown and you can expect a serious case of WTF. So our advice, next time you’re thinking of getting a tattoo, go beyond the surface and make an effort to find out the context of what it means. If not, you could end up like these unfortunate souls….

Phoenix resident Tim Lake travels a lot, so he very wisely installed some security cameras around his house to keep an eye on things for him when he’s out and about. The seemingly-paranoid tactic paid off recently, when Lake’s phone received a screen shot of a random woman at his door, and he realized that the bumbling blonde was actually stealing his Amazon package in broad daylight. While a lot of people might be pretty pissed that some woman would just jack their stuff like this, Lake is having a pretty darn good time trying to track down the culprit and humiliating her in the process. In an interview with Phoenix’s KPHO news, Lake pretended to cry over his stolen square ice cube tray, as he compared her appearance in the security footage to Dog the Bounty Hunter, before he read the hilarious flyer that he posted throughout his neighborhood. Oh, and of course he quoted Liam Neeson from Taken, because Tim Lake is awesome.

But don't worry: it's going to be hilarious." I don't know how Vince Gilligan pitched Breaking Bad to AMC, but thank god he did, and thank Heisenberg they picked it up. Many consider it to be the greatest TV drama of all-time, or at least in the top-three with The Wire and The Sopranos, but that's not giving it nearly enough comedic credit. Breaking Bad is really, really funny, funnier than most actual sitcoms. With the premiere right around the corner (in case you hadn't heard), let's take a look at some of the funniest moments from 10 SERIOUS TV DRAMAS, including Breaking Bad.

Minneapolis-based graphic designer Phil Jones, aka murraymullet, creates playful illustrations of objects and pets that will leave you smiling. The quirky drawings give a voice to inanimate objects like a trash can, transforming the waste receptacle into a refined connoisseur exclaiming, "Everything you bring me is garbage." Even when Jones' characters aren't accompanied with a speech or thought bubble, there's a universal understanding of his funny message. A shocked and teary orange kissing an equally disturbed tube of toothpaste speaks volumes as we all know the wretched taste of their combination after brushing one's teeth.

We already knew about some of the people who, in 2003, originally auditioned for various characters on NBC’s The Office — such as Alan Tudyk for Michael Scott, Mary Lynn Rajskub for Pam, and Hamish Linklater for Jim — but now we’re not only finding out a few others that tried out for roles, but we’re getting to see the audition tapes for the first time. The below reel comes from the bonus features on season nine of The Office, which comes out in September. Included in the highlight reel are Adam Scott trying out for Dwight’s character, Bob Odenkirk trying out for Michael Scott, Adam Scott and John Cho trying out for Jim’s character, and Kathryn Hahn — looking good — trying out for Pam Beesley. Honestly, the others wouldn’t have suited the series, but I love idea of Hahn as Pam. She makes me happy in my happy places.

Well this was unexpected: Amazon.com founder and CEO/spacenut Jeff Bezos — who’s worth something like 25 billion bucks — is buying the Washington Post for $250-million. (That’s a quarter of what Tumblr sold to Yahoo! for, btw.) Reports the very meta Washington Post: The Washington Post Co. has agreed to sell its flagship newspaper to Amazon.com founder and chief executive Jeffrey P. Bezos, ending the Graham family’s stewardship of one of America’s leading news organizations after four generations. Bezos, whose entrepreneurship has made him one of the world’s richest men, will pay $250 million in cash for The Post and affiliated publications to the Washington Post Co., which owns the newspaper and other businesses. Seattle-based Amazon will have no role in the purchase; Bezos himself will buy the news organization and become its sole owner when the sale is completed, probably within 60 days. The Post Co. will change to a new, still-undecided name and continue as a publicly traded company without The Post thereafter. Let the Twitter jokes commence!

Moms are jerks. Need proof? Check out this sign a mother left for her 13-year-old kid regarding his habit of cleaning the custard all over her towels. Forget about embarrassing the kid (who will now think about his mum and that note every time he pounds one out) she’s more concerned with her $5 Target bathroom linens. Also, is the Justin Bieber comment supposed to be a threat? What if the idea of dropping salty yogurt on the Biebs turns this kid on? Mom needs to show a little more class. She could take a lesson from these much classier requests that people stop slinging homemade number three all over the place.

Recently, a Reddit user had the unfortunate honor of being on the receiving end of a scorned young lady who was lashing out at her ex. The problem was, her ex had apparently changed his number. Over the course of an hour, “Kara” sent over 40 messages to a married schoolteacher who was a new mother herself and definitely did have time to council anyone through a breakup. If you hadn’t already guess we’re huge fans of director Stanley Kubrick, best known for creating cult classics such as ‘A Clockwork Orange’, ‘The Shining’, ‘Dr. Strangelove’ and even the controversial ‘Eyes Wide Shut’. But whether shooting a film or photographing everyday life, his unique style and evocative imagery shines through. We’ve previously featured 17 of his most candid & personal photographs along with a mesmerising collection of 24 cinemagraphs, but today we’re highlighting Kubrick’s documentary work. Rewind to 1949 and Look Magazine, noticing his natural gift, commissioned him to photograph a series titled ‘Chicago City of Contrasts’. He spent several weeks documenting the many facets of city life and below are a few examples of his experiences. His photographs showcase a city that celebrated the arts, provided entertainment for high society but who’s roots and future lay in the ever expanding blue-collar industry.

But that hasn’t deterred French artist Clet Abraham from prowling the streets of Europe adding his own irreverent twist to traffic signs for the past 2 years. How does is he able to do it? In the depths of the night, a friend gives him a leg up and he quickly plasters the stickers onto the sign before vanishing without a trace into the shadows. Europe’s weary commuters and pedestrians then wake up to his wonderfully inventive work the following morning. His humorous and subversive designs certainly makes the roads and alleyways of Europe a lot more interesting don’t you think? Let’s keep it that way, if you have happen to catch him in the act, turn a blind eye will you?

Just one look at this photo and you can tell it’s got meme potential. It was shared on Reddit with the title “We tried taking a nice family picture now that my daughter is one.
