Cher Lloyd + T.I. Serve It Up in 'I Wish' Video
25 sep 2013 16:41

Cher Lloyd plays a hapless waitress without a butt and a rack in her video for ‘I Wish’ — and she has her sights set squarely on rapper T.I. The singer undergoes a bit of a transformation, courtesy of stuffing her bra and a swipe of glittery gold eye shadow across her lids. But regardless, she still catches his eye, angering the tall, hot, model-like babes with which he entered her place of employ! It’s a playful, fun and flirty look at the British singer, who is clearly having a good time cozying up to the rapper. They end up exuding a brotherly-sisterly chemistry by the end of the video.

'Need for Speed' Trailer: Aaron Paul Goes All 'Fast and Furious'
25 sep 2013 16:28

From “Blue Sky” to blue collar, ‘Breaking Bad‘ breakout Aaron Paul headlines the first ‘Need for Speed‘ trailer, giving the ‘Fast and Furious‘ franchise a run for its box office money. ‘Need for Speed,’ based on the popular car-racing video game, sees Paul trade in Jesse Pinkman for blue-collar mechanic Tobey Marshall. Per the official synopsis: Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction. Tobey tears up the road in a gritty cross-country journey— one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. Dominic Cooper (‘Dead Man Down‘) plays the man responsible for his imprisonment, a wealthy ex-NASCAR driver named Dino Brewster. Tobey partnered up with him as a means to save his failing garage, but the relationship went sour after an unsanctioned car race turned disastrous. No matter how you feel about seeing this video game brought to the big screen, ‘Fast and Furious’ has proven there’s an audience for this by becoming one of Universal Pictures’ more profitable brands, and now DreamWorks seems hellbent on tagging into this market. Plus, it already has Paul’s ‘Breaking Bad’ fanbase clamoring for tickets. ‘Need for Speed’ also stars Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek, Imogen Poots, Dakota Johnson and Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, and is set for release in spring of 2014.

'Star Wars Rebels' Eyes Freddie Prinze Jr. and More
25 sep 2013 16:26

It’s become increasingly difficult to separate truth from rumor in the ongoing revamp of the ‘Star Wars‘ franchise, as every day seems to bring new reports of leading actors or fan-favorite characters slated to join the new film trilogy. If nothing else, however, confirmed animated series ‘Star Wars Rebels‘ has made new strides in shoring up a voice cast, from the likes of Freddie Prinze Jr. and ‘The Butler’ star David Oyelowo, himself previously rumored for a role in the films. The Hollywood Reporter broke news of the casting negotiations, adding to the list of Oyelowo and Prinze that Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum have also been contacted for leading roles in the series set to debut in late 2014. Oyelowo (‘Lincoln,’ ‘Interstellar’) had recently been rumored for a filmic ‘Star Wars’ role, though his potential placement among the ‘Star Wars Rebels’ cast wouldn’t necessarily preclude the possibility, either. So far, we know that ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will take place “in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape,” while concept art of a new Millenium Falcon-esque starship serving as a central location has made its way online. Picking up where the now-canceled ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ left off, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will feature on the creative side screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg (‘X-Men: First Class,’ ‘Elysium‘), who’s writing the first episode, as well as ‘Clone Wars’ supervising director Dave Filoni and ‘Young Justice’ producer Greg Weisman. What do you think? Are you interested to see what ‘Star Wars Rebels’ brings to the canon next year before ‘Episode 7′ debuts in 2015? Who would you like to see populate the cast of ‘Star Wars Rebels’? Check out the original announcement below, and hit us with your ideas in the comments!

Pearl Jam Unveil Performance-Based 'Sirens' Video
25 sep 2013 16:20

Pearl Jam are keeping it simple for the second video to emerge from their ‘Lightning Bolt’ album. The guys have just unveiled the new clip for ‘Sirens’ and it’s strictly a performance piece. But as with most Pearl Jam performances, there’s little ordinary about it. The veteran rockers hit their stride on this mid-tempo track, which showcases not only Eddie Vedder‘s vocal work, but also some impressive backing vocals from drummer Matt Cameron. Shot mostly in a dark room lit with the occasional white and red lighting, the video takes the viewer right into the crux of the performance with the band. In addition, to Vedder and Cameron, there’s also a spotlight for guitarist Mike McCready who busts out a second guitar midway into the clip to bring some electric licks to the track. Overall, ‘Sirens’ is a pretty straightforward video, but if anything this promo should show fans that the band has a solid new song to perform live once they hit the road this fall. You can count ‘Sirens’ among the standout new tracks that will make up ‘Lightning Bolt.’ The disc drops Oct. 15.

Dave Grohl Remembers Last Conversation With Kurt Cobain
25 sep 2013 16:12

Together, Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl made history. Nirvana broke new ground with ‘Nevermind’ in 1991 and the living members of the band are currently celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the band’s follow-up effort, 1993′s ‘In Utero.’ In a new interview, Grohl speaks with Rolling Stone about his relationship with the late Kurt Cobain, revealing his final exchange with the singer. When asked about the early days and living together as a band, Grohl recalled, “Living with Kurt was funny. He isolated himself in a lot of ways, emotionally. But he had a genuine, sweet nature. He never intentionally made you feel uncomfortable. Living with him in that tiny apartment in Olympia, Washington, there was some sort of bond. But it was much different than his relationship with Krist.” Speaking about that bond, Grohl characterized it as something more kin than what he personally shared with Cobain. He explains, “I looked at Krist and Kurt as soulmates. The two had such a beautiful, unspoken understanding of each other. Those two guys, together, totally defined the Nirvana aesthetic. Every quirk, all the strange things that came from Nirvana came from Krist and Kurt.” An overdose in Rome nearly claimed Cobain’s life prior to his eventual 1994 death, and Grohl recalls his final conversation with his colleague and friend. He states, “I called Kurt after Rome. I said, ‘Hey, man, that really scared everybody. And I don’t want you to die.’ Then I saw him at our accountant’s office [in Seattle]. He was walking out as I was walking in. He smiled and said, ‘Hey, what’s up?’ And I said, ‘I’ll give you a call.’ And he said, ‘Okay.’” Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ album turns 22 today (Sept. 24), while the ‘In Utero’ 20th anniversary edition (available here) arrives in stores today after celebrating its official 20th anniversary over the weekend. Read the entire interview with Grohl at Rolling Stone.

Metallica Rock New York With Performances at Yankee Stadium
25 sep 2013 16:02

When you head to New York for the weekend, you’d better make the most of your time in the Big Apple. And that’s exactly what the guys in Metallica just did, delivering a blistering set at the legendary Apollo Theater on Sept. 21 before making a surprise appearance at Yankee Stadium the following day. The band was on hand at Yankee Stadium to help celebrate the career of Mariano Rivera, the intimidating pitcher who’s taken the mound countless times to the strains of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman.’ Retiring after a 19-year career in the majors, Rivera might have been playing his final home game with the Yankees, and they made it count with a nearly hour-long ceremony that included appearances from former coaches and teammates, the retiring of his jersey and a live performance of — you guessed it — ‘Enter Sandman.’ You can watch video above. In addition to the song (which they kicked off by saying “This one’s for you, Mariano”) the band — decked out in special Yankees-style Metallica jerseys — presented Rivera with a giant autographed speaker with Rivera’s No. 42, the name Metallica and ‘Sandman’ on the front. “The whole thing was special, I wasn’t expecting something like that,” Rivera told ESPN. “A lot of emotions. It was more than what I was thinking.”

Paul McCartney Pays a Visit to Jimmy Kimmel
25 sep 2013 16:01

With his ‘New‘ album just around the corner, it’s time for Paul McCartney to start making the publicity rounds, including his first-ever visit to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ McCartney stopped by Kimmel’s late-night ABC talk show last night and took a few moments to chat about the new record while reminiscing about some of the high points from one of rock’s most successful and storied careers. And speaking of all that success, here’s something fans might find funny: Not only does McCartney still suffer performance anxiety, but he often has nightmares about playing disastrous gigs with the Beatles. (You can watch about 12 minutes of the interview in the videos above and below.) “You can’t control what goes on in your dreams anyway,” explained McCartney. “I’m there, say, with the Beatles, and we’re playing, and the audience starts to leave. ‘What do we do? What do we do? Quick! ‘Long Tall Sally” — they’re still leaving. You wake up in a cold sweat.” McCartney also discussed the Beatles’ historic first trip to Hollywood, saying his most prominent memory is of “Lot of screaming — which is, you know, great. Beautiful girls — we were young, we were healthy, we were ready to roll.” The band also met Elvis Presley, which left them starstruck because “we were little kids from Liverpool, growing up hearing this first burst of rock ‘n’ roll, really — we hadn’t heard that kind of stuff, so it was magical. We always wanted to meet him.” The meeting took place despite some interference from Presley’s manager, the infamous Colonel Tom Parker. As McCartney mused during the interview, “I think we were a threat — he was popular, but we were kind of taking over.”

Motley Crue Debut Fiery Stage Show for Las Vegas 'Evening in Hell'
25 sep 2013 16:00

Motley Crue promised state-of-the-art pyrotechnics for their ‘An Intimate Evening in Hell’ residency at the the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and it looks like they weren’t just blowing smoke. According to preeminent rich & famous lifestyle chronicler Robin Leach, who previewed the band’s set for the Las Vegas Sun, attendees should “expect fire alarms and flashing-light warnings” for a fire-filled show that will reportedly find Tommy Lee drumming “inside a mystical symbol also set on fire” and Vince Neil singing ‘Home Sweet Home’ inside a “white-angel Liberace-esque cloak…that will be sprayed with fire retardant nightly.” Leach secured an endorsement from Vegas fixture Carrot Top, who enthused, “You can feel the heat! All of Las Vegas will know the show’s started — it’s that loud and fiery. It wasn’t just the Joint that shook from it; the entire hotel did.” “There is no show like this. There never has been, and there never will be,” Neil told Leach. “You’ve seen video fire from other rock acts on tour, but never the real thing. It’s more than any rock group has ever produced or attempted. It really is entering the depths of hell. There’s fire all around and fire coming down from above.” Neil went on to insist that fans could look forward to more than just special effects; in fact, he says the band’s set list puts him through his paces more doggedly than most. “I don’t get one break,” he explained. “We start with a song from when we began 30 years ago. We’ve reached back over the years to old hits to match up with new hits. It’s a difficult set list for me vocally — ‘Too Young to Fall in Love’ is no easy song to perform. We rehearsed the entire show in L.A., but we tested the entire set list with shows in Oklahoma and Miami. The reaction was incredible.” The band couldn’t do everything they wanted to do — Leach’s article mentions “plans for robots” that were dropped due to safety concerns, and questions whether fire marshals will allow them to attempt setting a stuntman on fire atop a blazing piano — but the end result still sounds suitably over the top. “We have the best fire tech experts in the world. This is so over the top, the only thing cool is what we do!” laughed Neil. “Basically, we’re setting everything on fire in a way that’s never been done before.” Based on the photo-filled Twitter feeds of Leach and Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, it looks like everybody had fun and avoided the emergency room. The first fan video from the show has now turned up, too — you can check that out below. ‘An Intimate Evening in Hell’ is scheduled to run from Sept. 18 through Oct. 6.

Justin Timberlake + Jimmy Fallon Show the Absurdity of Hashtag Overuse
25 sep 2013 15:49

The more we see Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon, the more we want them to have their own show together. Their latest joint effort? Showing everyone just how pervasive the hashtag culture has become online — and how utterly ridiculous it is. In the skit, JT and JF have a conversation (a real face-to-face one, remember those?) but they still use hashtags. Only since they actually say the word “hashtag” and include a descriptive hand gesture every time, it doesn’t take long for the whole thing to spiral into the absurd. (Where else will you find cookies, Ray Romano, sexy ghosts and ‘We Can’t Stop’ all in the same chat?) Remember, kids: Friends don’t let friends overuse hashtags.

Taylor Swift Has New Hairstyle at 'Romeo + Juliet' Premiere [PHOTOS]
25 sep 2013 15:49

Taylor Swift has been sporting impecabbly styled dishwater blond hair with bangs for a while now. But the starlet mixed it up for the red carpet premiere of ‘Romeo + Juliet.’ What’s her new look like? She’s still got the solid blond, which unfortunately looks almost green in certain lighting and doesn’t do her much justice. She also still has bangs … but with a twist! Swift swept her bangs to the side for the event. The result was some what mixed. On the bright side, you can see the ‘Love Story’ singer’s bright blue eyes a lot better, and the sidesweep accentuates her cheekbones as well. On the negative side, well, they’re simply too short to sweep effectively, and it just looks like she’s stuck in an awkward growing out phase, especially because of the wispy flyaways on the left side of her face. We’re not having a ‘Love Story’ with this style, but hopefully it’s a hint at a return to her once-signature curls. We miss them!

A HS Wrestling Star Wrestled A Kid With Down Syndrome, Became My Hero

We share a pretty thorough amount of stuff to make you cry on this site, from sick kids in wheelchairs scoring touchdowns to army dads returning home to surprise their families to dead dog mascots who tweet from Heaven, so it’s amazing to me that a story as inspiring and touching as the one between Atlanta high schoolers Demetrius de Moors and Michael Lind could be almost a year old and not have any major mainstream coverage. Demetrius was set to compete in Georgia’s prestigious South Metro Wrestling Tournament and stepped in against Lind, a kid with Down Syndrome. I won’t spoil it for you in an asinine paragraph, but if you’ve got five free minutes, watch this video in its entirety, cry a little bit, and feel a hell of a lot better about humanity.

What SteamOS Is, And Why It Matters
23 sep 2013 12:41

In the first of three announcements Valve is running this week about gaming in the living room, they showed their usual modesty and restraint and announced an entire freaking operating system that can stream your entire game library. So what, precisely, is SteamOS? And why is it a big, big deal? What It Is SteamOS is basically a custom operating system built on Linux, that streams games on Steam, that Valve is giving away for free. A good analogy is to think of it as the Android of gaming PCs; Valve has publicly declared they’re handing it out to anybody who wants it. This is important for two reasons: One, it means the operating system isn’t limited to one set of hardware. Unlike your PS3 or your Xbox 360, both of which are difficult to get running outside the environment specifically tailored for them, basically SteamOS is built to work on anything. Secondly, SteamOS gets around some pretty severe problems with PC gaming in the living room by just streaming your games. That in of itself practically sells the OS to a lot of people. Why It Matters Because essentially it’s what will likely be the first step to making gaming genuinely hardware-agnostic. Valve is essentially trying to leapfrog to where the game industry is heading anyway. Both the PS4 and the Xbox One are, in essence, streamlined PCs. That’s not exactly a coincidence; they were built, from the ground up, to make developing and publishing games cheaper and easier by making the architecture more PC-like. Part of the reason Sony is cuddling up to indies and Microsoft is talking up the sports and television aspects is that there isn’t going to be much different between the two in terms of actual games. This trend isn’t going to reverse any time soon. AAA game development is costing more and more and there’s less and less return. And that isn’t just a problem for developers, but also for the people who sell video games. You know, like Valve. Will It Work? Let’s see, a free operating system that you can just throw onto pretty much anything with a processor powerful enough to take it, and boosts the value of your device? Yeah, that’ll do pretty well. Gaming PCs will probably ship this standard, and remember, Valve isn’t done with announcements yet; the next one comes on Wednesday.

See Drake’s ‘Nothing Was the Same’ Album Cover with Crazy Hairstyles
23 sep 2013 12:00

When Drake debuted his evolution from childhood to manhood in an illustration on the Kadir Nelson-designed cover of his third album, ‘Nothing Was the Same,’ one of the most noticeably detailed aspects of the image is the hairstyles. One cover depicts the rapper as a baby with an afro, while the other artwork showcases the Toronto native with a low fade and deep side part. So what would happen if grown-up Drizzy received a few hair makeovers inspired by the likes of Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus and more? Here are some remixed album covers showing off the OVO leader’s new look courtesy of TheDrop.fm. Is it “too much” or does he “own it”? You be the judge.

The Origin Of Bodybuilding & Evolution Of Bodybuilders
23 sep 2013 11:54

The history of bodybuilding is relatively new in the grand scheme of things. Generally speaking bodybuilding began to be seen as a legitimate sport / fitness activity from as early as 1880. Eugen Sandow is known as ‘The Father of Modern Bodybuilding’, a true pioneer, he was able to build an audience around his physique – by paying a nominal amount, you were given a show whereby Sandow would flaunt his physique and take part of various strength building exercises. He soon realise that in order to keep the momentum going and hold the fickle publics interest, that he needed to expand his show beyond himself. And that’s when in 1901 he launched ‘The Great Competition’ now recognised universally as the worlds first bodybuilding contest. It took place on September 14, not in a gym or sports arena, but in the Royal Albert Hall in London of all places.

Replace Darth Vader's Voice With Young Anakin's And it = Comedy Gold

Imagine a galaxy far, far away, where Darth Vader‘s voice modulator malfunctions, and he’s left with the voice of his pre-pubescent self as played by “world’s greatest kid actor” Jake Lloyd. And now you know why ‘Phantom Menace’ had to be made. So that somebody could do this. Sure, not all the lines are great, but enough of them are that we think it’s worth the eight minutes. At the very least, jump to the 6:45 mark for some comedy gold.

Emails From the World's Most Demanding Bride
22 sep 2013 23:13

The concept of a “Bridezilla” has been taken to a whole new level. A series of emails written by a bride-to-be to her bridesmaids (and shared by one of the bridesmaids) will have you shaking your head in utter disbelief. The bride lays out some crazy ground rules and then tries to show a sense of humor, but, really, comes across as the kind of desperate lady who all the guys hide see and hide in the bathroom when it’s their time to chat with her during a speed dating event. From her obsession with everyone’s weight to her completely unforgiving stance on her bridesmaids’ hair to her need to call herself “The Queen Bee,” it’s clear the man who exchanged “I dos” with her has his work cut out for himself. Yes, they actually did get married. Here are just a couple of the guidelines the woman spelled out for her bridesmaids (the bold is her work, by the way):

These days, smartphones are as much a part of our lives as the air we breathe, but don’t count Louis C.K. among the legions of people who like them. While appearing on ‘Conan,’ the comedian didn’t hide his disdain for smartphones. It’s an insightful (and funny) diatribe that you’re bound to recognize as having more than an ounce of truth. With all the sadness he claims life throws our way, it’s nice to get a chuckle.

22 sep 2013 22:35

He might not be a household name like say David Copperfield or Criss Angel, but in his day Harry Kellar was one of the more popular magicians of his era. Aside from baffling audiences with smoke and mirrors and a well timed sleight of hand, magicians had to promote and market themselves heavily in order to bring the crowds in. Once you reach a certain level, where your show was so utterly compelling that everyone was talking about you, then you could ease up and let your name sell the tickets for you – until that turning point, it was all about the marketing. One particular element that always captured the attention of the general public was the occult. Kellar was well-aware of the power of suggestion and ensured all of his promotional posters featured himself commanding or conjuring up devils and wicked imps. Buy a ticket to one of his shows and you too could have an audience with demonic and supernatural. So successful were the designs of the posters in promoting his show that when he retired his successor Howard Thurston continued to use the same elements. A different magician, but with the same talents and unique gifts to communicate with the underworld. The posters themselves date back the early 1900′s – Kellar retired in 1908, presumably to kick back, have a drink with Lucifer and count all his money. Others magicians tried to copy his imagery, including is “Miss Baldwin” who also has those mischievous red devils littering her tour poster. If you find these posters as interesting as we do, we recommend you get yourself a copy of Magic. 1400s-1950s. It contains around 850 rarely seen vintage posters, photographs, handbills, and engravings whilst wonderfully tracing the history of magic from the early 1400s through to the 1950s. After seeing these posters, would you also want to see a Harry Kellar show?

A Cute Redditor Teaches You How To Make A Dress Out Of A Turtleneck
18 sep 2013 13:17

So here’s something weird/creative/interesting. You can find the full images complete with step-by-step instructions here. As much as I enjoy the ingenuity and overall oddness of a resourceful and fashion forward Redditor sharing how to turn a huge turtleneck into a dress I can’t quite bring myself to cut and paste the instructions. Besides, like most things on Reddit half the fun comes from the comments, where in this instance SarahPanda’s contribution has inspired random hairy dudes from around the globe to raid their own closets and share results. I’d include some of those here but they’re borderline NSFW thanks to pretty much everything about them. If you need me I’ll be adding this to my “tried and loved” section on Pinterest.

The Government Wants You To Unlock Your Phone
18 sep 2013 13:16

A few months back, we told you that Obama had paid lip service to a petition about being able to legally unlock your phone, but that nothing was going to happen from the sound of things. Apparently, we misheard the sound of things, because the White House is actually pushing the FCC to do something. Specifically, the White House has petitioned the Federal Communications Commission to make phone unlocking at any time completely legal. It’s currently illegal because of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. Explaining why would take forever, and not even the government can offer a good reason. Will the FCC do it? Considering who’s running the joint, odds look pretty good: Before resigning earlier this year, former FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said the commission would examine the issue “to see if we can and should enable consumers to use unlocked phones,” adding that a ban on unlocking “raises competition concerns; it raises innovation concerns.” Tom Wheeler, President Obama’s nominee to succeed Genachowski, said during a nomination hearing in June that he supported lifting the ban. Needless to say, there’s the usual mindless panic among people who insist that this will bring to an end to subsidized phones. Which it won’t, because most of those subsidized phones are tied to a contract anyway, and it makes far more sense to buy the unlocked version of a phone than eat an early termination fee. Now, contracts themselves are increasingly an endangered species, but that’s due to market forces and phone hardware update cycles, not government intervention. Unlocking phones means we can get more use out of them, and that we can choose more easily what network we use when communicating. The White House views it as giving consumers the tools to vote with their wallets, and really, that’s what it is, in the end. Besides, considering how many phone ads we see now, it’s not like wireless carriers will have to shell out more for marketing.

iOS 7 Download Is Out, And You Should Update Right Now
18 sep 2013 13:15

Just a friendly reminder: iOS 7, probably the most compelling product Apple talked about last week, is out. If you’ve got an iDevice capable of running it, you need to get it. Why? Glad you asked! Not for the graphics finishes; people will be having a nice rabble rabble about that for days, and it couldn’t matter a bit less. No, what matters is what’s under the hood. The Notification and Control Centers are probably my favorite feature. The Notification Center is a very clean, simple way to look at your stuff in one place, something that iOS could use a better form of. The Control Center, meanwhile, is something Android will swipe in the next update: Essentially it puts all the settings you could want right at your fingertips. The camera software has also gotten an overhaul: While I find the Instagramming of every piece of camera software on every phone to be almost as nauseating as the gold iPhone 5S, I’m forced to admit Apple’s filters were actually designed to make a photo look better. That’s as close as I’m going to get to a glowing recommendation, but if you have to use filters, Apple’s gone out of its way to make some good ones. Finally, the most subtle change is the best. Apple has dumped the whole “Oh, you’ve never used a smartphone before” attitude in favor of designing the OS to just make sense and flow naturally. Everything is more sensible, smoother, more logical. In some ways, iOS 7 shakes off some unnecessary cruft in favor of being more user-friendly in general. In short, it’s easily the best thing Apple’s rolled out this year. Go get it!

Watch Amy Poehler Impersonate Her Son Saying Spicy Salsa For Kimmel
18 sep 2013 13:14

Not so long ago I mentioned that Tina Fey should be the only person allowed to talk about her children. Well, my list has fittingly been expanded to two with the addition of best person ever, Amy Poehler. Last night real life Leslie Knope appeared in multiple segments on Jimmy Kimmel Live with the moment of moments coming in the above clip where she impersonates here uber bankable red haired son with a lisp getting tricked into saying “spicy salsa” over and over again. It’s funny because he doesn’t realize he’s being tricked into doing things for others’ amusement. That starts at the :55 mark. The rest of her appearance was almost as delightful, so let’s run through it… First there was Amy and Stephen Merchant pitching in on the monologue.

Ted Mosby Is A Big Ol' Slut
18 sep 2013 13:05

Ted Mosby: man whore. That’s according to the team at the Daily Beast, who put together a compilation of Schmosby’s many sexual exploits over the course of How I Met Your Mother, as told by the Mother to their kids. The video also insinuates that he’s a bad father, but we’ll get to that. As for the slut part: nope. Someone with a lot of time on their slap-betted-out hands deduced that over a 15-year span, Ted dated 31 women and had sex with 20 of them, including personal favorite Natalia. Those numbers might be a little high, based on false preconceived notions of “right” and “wrong” promiscuity, but they’re not at all unreasonable for a 30-something living in New York City. I’m sure the equally invidious Ross Gellar was nearly as successful in making women regret their life choices, to say nothing of the walking mistake that is Barney Stinson. But we’ll get to that.

Ingenious Pranksters Fill Friend's House With Beer
18 sep 2013 12:48

In this hilarious video, a group of friends in New Zealand decide to rig the water lines in their buddy’s house so that beer came out of every tap in the house. Then, they set up dozens of cameras all over the house to catch his reaction. It’s a prank that will have frat brothers everywhere drooling with envy. It’s like ‘Animal House’ meets ‘Hackers’ meets ‘Punk’d.’ Gosh, they must’ve worked up a thirst. Good thing they had easy access to plenty of beer to reward themselves for a job well done.

Awe-inspiring Invention Could Clean World's Oceans In 5 years
18 sep 2013 12:36

Every year we produce over 300 million tonnes of plastic. Of this, over 7.25 million tonnes of it ends up in our oceans in the form of top-level floating debris – that’s 4.8 million medium-sized cars or 51 billion iPods floating around the ocean. This plastic breaks down into smaller pieces each year, poisoning the food chain and ultimately affecting the food we eat.

The Ultimate 8 Step Guide To Eating Japanese Sushi
18 sep 2013 12:35

If you haven’t eaten sushi before, you really should give it try. Not only it is delicious, it’s incredible healthy for you, low in fat and high in essential oils and vitamins. For centuries the Japanese have been eating sushi (raw seafood) but those easy bite size sushi rolls that many of us partake in today, first stated in Edo, Japan somewhere around the middle of the 19th century. At the time, they were seen as the ultimate fast-food, you could carry around a healthy snack without the need for plates and cutlery. In America it was the trusty chicken nugget, in Japan it was the nigiri and maki rolls – and fortunately NOT kittens, as this hilarious ad might cause you to believe.

A Retrospective On The Iconic Tattoos Of Yesteryear
18 sep 2013 12:32

In case you haven't noticed, from our numerous posts on tattoo's, here at LOLJam we are big fans of permanent skin ink. But they all have one common theme (regardless of how great or shocking they are) they’re all contemporary examples of tattoo art. The real question is, where did todays tattoo artists get their inspiration from? Who influenced their designs? And is the “new” truly groundbreaking or merely a homage for the tattoo masters of yesteryear? To answer the question truthfully, you’d have to go back to around the Neolithic times. The earliest example of a tattoo goes as far back as the fifth millennium BC when an Iceman was discovered in the Alps with 50+ tattoos in total across their spine, knee and even right ankle. They were simple dots or markings if you will, but evidence nonetheless that man has been styling his body for centuries. It would be nice if we could bring you a selection of the very best Neolithic tattoo trends, but let’s face it that’s going to be a tough ask (even for us.) So we’ve selected some of the most interesting, extensive and iconic ink work from as far back as the 1920′s along with the genuine characters who underwent hours of pain in the chair. Who knows, you might even find your Great Great Great Grandfather in amongst them all!
