35 Rare Photos of the Construction of the Titanic

Construction of Titanic began on March 31, 1909 when designer James Andrews laid the first keel plate in the Harland & Wolff Shipyards Belfast, Ireland. Titanic’s sister ship The Olympic had begun some three months earlier and the two ships were essentially constructed side by side by over 15,000 workers, constructing the Titanic would cost 8 employees their life working on such a mammoth and often dangerous construction site.

The billionaire and one-time richest person in the world is focusing efforts on Blue Origin, the private space company he founded. Recently, Blue Origin revealed its Blue Moon lunar lander at a special event in the United States. Alongside that, the company has shown off a set of futuristic habitats that could one day support human life away from Earth.

Rare Photos Of Germany Before It Was Destroyed By War

Long before it was crippled and destroyed by two World Wars, Germany was a land of beauty, gothic splendour and picturesque villages. After the second world war ended on September 2nd 1945, Germany went through decades of rebuilding with much of it’s original beauty bombed and laying in ruins.

“In 1991, the wife of a friend was nine months pregnant, and I had an idea…to photograph them together, on the same day every year, forever…. Every year, at the same time, against the same backdrop, under the same lighting. This way there are no distractions, only the miracle of growth and the changes of time and age.” – Zed Nelson, photographer of “The Family” project.

UPS Driver Entertains Himself At Work By Taking Photos With Every Dog He Meets

Many of us have stopped in our tracks at the sight of a dog crossing our path on the street, or staring back at us through the gaps in the fence and there always is an urge to go over to them and give them a pet. UPS drivers are no exception to that urge and they've started a beautiful tradition to snap pictures with dogs they meet on their route at work.

I recently explored a part of Kyrgyzstan that was very much undiscovered. For 6 days I explored the south shore of Issyk Kul lake (one of the biggest lakes in the world). This trip was focused on the Canyons on the shore of Issyk Kul Lake. Kyrgyzstan has so much to offer and I am already looking forward to going back in June. For now, please enjoy this unique canyon series that consists for the most part of drone imaginary, abstracts and night photography.

“The only friend I’ve got is Mary and I don’t want anybody else,” Freddie Mercury once said about the ‘love of his life,’ Mary Austin. While the legendary Queen singer’s relationships were always in the media spotlight, including in the recent, wildly popular movie Bohemian Rhapsody, the one that truly mattered probably received the least attention of them all.

"I saw a lot of people online making bowls out of colored pencils and I thought that was really cool but I wanted to make something that I can actually utilize and enjoy more so than a bowl when it’s finished. Since I play guitar, I thought this would be a cool project. I decided on making a Stratocaster styled electric guitar"

Crop circles are a staple of the conspiracy theory crowd, with the artistic creations in cereal fields often attributed to UFO landings, or intricate forms of Alien communication. So imagine the excitement some must’ve felt when photos of incredible geometric designs emerged in a forest in Japan recently, not from some squashed wheat, but from large, mature Japanese cedar trees.

Back in 1993, Johan Huibers was reading a bedtime story to his children about Noah’s Ark, which gave him a crazy idea – to build his own replica of the Ark. His wife laughed at him, saying that when he finishes it, they “can all go on vacation to the moon.” But Johan did not give up and finished his first version of the ship in 2006.

Firefighter Saves Cat From Wildfire In California, And Now She Can’t Thank Him Enough

Recent wildfires across the state of California have claimed 80 lives so far, making it the nation’s deadliest in at least a century. There are still nearly 700 people who are unaccounted for. The so-called Camp Fire in Northern California has also completely destroyed the town Paradise, turning it into a “toxic wasteland.” In it, however, Captain Ryan Coleman of the Fairview Valley Fire Department still managed to find a survivor.
